System Level Modeling of Electromagnetic Couplings for the Energy Efficiency of Static Converters

Efficiency in electric mobility systems can be achieved by modeling advanced electrical energy conversion structures, such as static converters, which utilize Electro-Magnetic (EM) coupling materials. The modeling of these couplings is governed by Maxwell's equations. Accurate solutions to these equations necessitate the use of detailed numerical methods. While numerical methods provide an intricate view of EM fields through meshing space, a macroscopic representation can complement it by offering a broader perspective on system-level interactions. This high-level overview is especially valuable for understanding EM couplings in systems with varying mesh densities. Therefore, this paper aims to derive a system-level understanding of Maxwell's equations using numerical methods to obtain the EM couplings.
