Barriers to the Development of The Industrialized House Building in China

Currently, the development of industrialized building is slow in China, especially in the field of Industrialized House Building (IHB). The previous literature believes that the barriers to the slow development of this field can be summarized into policy, economy, market, technology, and awareness. Although some research explores the barriers list that lead to the slow development of industrialized building, they have not further studied the specific impact of barriers on the slow development of IHB. For filling this gap, the current study Uses Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM), a questionnaire from 161 professionals in the Chinese construction industry was quantitatively analyzed. Research findings revealed that policy, economy, technology, and management have a positive impact on the development of IHB in China. Compared with economy, technology, and management, the impact of policy on IHB development is more significant in China. Moreover, it has been confirmed that there was no significant direct relationship between awareness and IHB development in China.
