Securing Photovoltaic Panels: A Survey

Integrating photovoltaic (PV) panels with Internet of Things (IoT) devices has become increasingly prevalent, making them vulnerable to adversarial threats. Despite this, limited research addresses systematic approaches to tackle these vulnerabilities. This paper bridges the gap by thoroughly examining security challenges, including physical and cyber-attacks on PV panel installations. It emphasizes their potential impact on end-users and the broader energy grid when compromised. Further, we propose integrating advanced cryptographic techniques, secure authentication, and IoT anomaly detection systems to enhance PV panel security. Through these contributions, the paper aims to raise awareness and advocate for robust security measures in PV cells, ultimately playing a role in developing secure, reliable, and resilient solar energy infrastructures for the benefit of future generations.
