Numerical Simulation of Laser Deposition Manufacturing Based on Feature Islands

Residual stress and deformation are two key defects in laser deposition manufacturing. The optimal design of scanning strategy is an important method to control residual stress and deformation. On the basis of feature partitioning, this paper uses ANSYS Workbench to model T-shaped structural parts, and writes APDL parameters of mobile heat source to simulate the laser deposition manufacturing process under different scanning strategies, analyzes the influence of different scanning strategies on the temperature field and stress field of T-shaped structural parts, and obtains the best scanning strategy. On this basis, three kinds of jump scanning sequence manufacturing processes were simulated, and the temperature and stress distribution of the forming parts under different jump scanning sequences were obtained. The results show that based on the feature area, the unidirectional island scanning method and the maximum span jump of the feature area can make the substrate temperature distribution more uniform and the stress and deformation of the formed parts less, which is conducive to improving the dimensional accuracy of the formed parts.
