Adaptive Generative-Music Application For Cognitive Support During Maritime and Aerial Travel

This article introduces a mobile application that generates adaptive music to address cognitive problems experienced by travelers during aerial and maritime journeys. The app utilizes the mobile-phone's real-time location tracking technique to dynamically adjust the musical composition, offering a personalized auditory experience tailored to individual travel conditions. By employing personalized music in sync with changing location, the app aims to provide cognitive support and travel comfort by mitigating cognitive challenges associated with jet lag, motion sickness, fatigue, disorientation, and stress-induced cognitive impairments often encountered during long-distance flights and sea voyages. Though jet lag affects people in different manner depending on their age (for example elderly people are more affected than younger adults), the current work aims to address a uniform solution for everyone affected by time zone change. Thus, the novelty of this research relies in the detection of environmental change during travel and implicit generation of custom-made music-content to tackle the cognitive issues specific to those situations.
