Analysis of Perturb & Observe MPPT Algorithm in Partial Shading for DC-DC Boost Converters

It introduces an enhanced MPPT algorithm for addressing Partial Shading Conditions (PSC) affecting solar panels integrated with a DC-DC converter. The Perturb and Observe (P&O) technique is employed by the suggested methodology to control and normalize the non-linear output of PV systems operating under PSC. Unlike the conventional Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) method, which exhibited limited effectiveness in PSC scenarios, the P&O method demonstrates the ability to effectively manage both global and local peaks, leading to enhanced operational efficiency. PSO fails to adapt to PSC due to its inability to handle varying power flows efficiently, resulting in constant power output with decreased efficiency. The comparative analysis validates the proposed approach mathematically, with results extensively discussed.
