Design of all optical AND/NAND logic gates with high Performance using the nonlinear Kerr effect

This work represents a novel proposed structure of AND/NAND logic gate based on photonic crystal ring resonator with nonlinear Kerr effect, Sicarbide is the nonlinear material applicated in this structure. In this paper; our research is based through two principal steps: in the first step, we design and simulate the proposed filter structure based on ring shaped resonator. The suggested filter has a high transmission power 100% for the telecommunication wavelength ʎ=1.5692 µm and the switching threshold power more than 0.7kw/µm2. After that, using this filter to design the logic gates yield. Therefore, the structure presents a good performance: a high contrast ratio 10.23 db,10db, low delay time 1.9ps, 5ps and a fast bit rate 0.52 Tb/s, 0.2Tb/s for the AND/NAND logic gates respectively.
