Design of Optically Transparent Metasurface for Microwave Wireless Power Transmission with a Nondiffractive Beam

An optically transparent reflective metasurface utilizing indium tin oxide (ITO) is proposed for applications in microwave wireless power transmission (MWPT). The sub-wavelength element achieved a peak return loss within 1.5dB and phase variation exceeding 360° at a frequency of 5.8GHz. An optically transparent single-layer metasurface is composed of 53×53 elements, which is able to achieve a nondiffractive beam of 2m in simulation, with radiated power attenuation of less than 5.5dB. Furthermore, the deflection of nondiffractive zero-order Bessel beams by 10° +z-axis has been attained, with an emission efficiency of 75.21% at 1500mm.
