Wideband High-Isolated Eight-Element Slot MIMO Antennas Based on Current Couplings Cancellation

In this paper, a wideband eight-element linearly-placed MIMO slot antenna array is proposed. By bending the slot antenna L-shaped, the current couplings on the two portions are opposite and cancel out to achieve the first transmission zero. Another transmission zero is reached by adding the short-ended L-shaped branch on the center of the original slot antenna using the same decoupling mechanism. By adjusting the size of the L-shaped slot, the proposed current cancellation scheme can be easily applied to more than two elements in the antenna array. Utilizing the proposed current cancellation method, an eight-element linear slot array is constructed with all the mutual couplings greater than 15 dB from 3.3 to 3.8 GHz.
