Experimental Validation of an Extended Pseudo-Scale Model for Air-Brackish Two-Layer Problem

To reduce the experimental cost of underwater locating, a pseudo-scale model was proposed, which could be applied to the air-sea water two-layer problem, but not to the air-brackish water two-layer problem. In this paper, we attempt to apply an extended pseudo-scale model to measure the electromagnetic field distribution in the air-brackish water two-layer problem in the laboratory. To experimentally confirm the validity of this model, we assume an electrically infinitesimal dipole antenna in the water region for the diver locating problem near the water surface using electromagnetic waves, and compare the electric field distribution obtained by numerical simulation using the FDTD method for the original problem with the measured received power distribution for the extended pseudo-scale model. Taking into account the scale factor, we can confirm that the difference between these distributions is small.
