The Plating Technology for Press-Fit Pins using Heat-Resistant IMC Joint Material

We have been developing and producing heat-resistant joint materials based on Sn-Cu IMC in the form of pastes and sheets [1]. This time, we have investigated and developed the application of the IMC materials as surface plating materials for press-fit pins. We confirmed that the surface resistance stability of the heat-resistant IMC plating samples is superior to that of conventional gold -plated samples through high-temperature storage tests.
