Design and Implementation of Low Power Oximeter

The monitoring of pulse rate and oxygen saturation stands as pivotal clinical metrics indicative of essential physiological processes. Oxygen saturation denotes the concentration of oxygenated hemoglobin within arterial blood, offering insights into blood oxygenation levels. Utilizing light-emitting diodes (LEDs) and photo detectors, pulse oximeters offer an economical and non-intrusive method for tracking both pulse rate and blood oxygen saturation. The objective of this project is to develop an innovative electronic circuit integrating an analog filter to effectively isolate red and green photoplethysmography (PPG) data. The project entails building and implementing a tiny micro controller-based portable system using available optoelectronic sensors and PPG. This system is specialized to measuring, displaying, and confirming finger-based heart rate measurements. The averaged heart rate values are then shown on a text-based LCD screen, which refreshes every ten seconds. The development concept shows promise for a variety of healthcare applications, demonstrating its ability to improve health monitoring procedures.
