Optimal Operation of Distribution Networks with Air Conditioning and Electric Vehicle Aggregators: Considering Scheduling Potential

With the increasing penetration of distributed resources in distribution networks (DNs) due to the development of renewable energy, the stochasticity and intermittency of distributed generations make it crucial to study the optimal operation of DNs while considering the potential for load-side scheduling. This paper proposes an optimal scheduling model for DNs by considering the scheduling potential of air conditioning and electric vehicle (EV) aggregators. First, the detailed potential models for air conditioning and electric vehicle aggregators are established. Then the distribution network scheduling is optimized to minimize the power purchase cost of air conditioning and EVs. Moreover, the scheduling potential of air conditioning and electric vehicle aggregators is further evaluated, providing guidance for mitigating the impact of renewable energy resources and alleviating power shortages during peak periods. The effectiveness of the proposed model and optimal scheduling method is validated through simulations on a typical IEEE 33-node system.
