Optimized Scheduling of Integrated Energy Systems Considering Diversified Flexibility

This paper proposes a strategy to enhance energy system flexibility by considering multiple links. It begins by describing and modeling the dynamic characteristics of the thermal network to quantify its flexibility. It then models storage batteries and curtailable loads in the power network to analyze the flexibility supply and demand relationship. The paper also establishes a mathematical model considering operational flexibility constraints of the integrated energy system(IES) with the objective of minimizing operating costs. Finally, the strategy is validated using the IEEE 24-node system and a 16-node thermal network to demonstrate the value of incorporating multi-link flexibility resources such as network energy storage and flexible loads.
