A Study of Fault Localization Techniques for Transmission Lines Based on the Modified Waveform Method

The swift and precise identification of fault location and isolation of the faulty section from the power system holds paramount importance in ensuring power system stability. This paper addresses the challenges associated with curve fitting, endpoint effect and mode aliasing existing in traveling wave method ranging, Akima interpolation method is used in the process of envelope fitting extreme value curve, which improves the influence caused by inaccurate curve fitting and endpoint effect to a certain extent; At the same time, the adaptive noise complete set empirical mode decomposition (ANCSEMD) algorithm is proposed to process signals, and the results show that ANCSEMD algorithm leaves less residual noise in processing signals, which can improve the mode aliasing problem. The ultimate simulation outcomes demonstrate that the suggested approach can markedly enhance the precision of fault localization for transmission lines.
