Research on Power System Restoration Strategy with Collaborative Participation of Multi-Pumped Storage and Wind Power

The increase in China’s installed wind power has been driven by the advancement of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals. However, the rise in wind power penetration rate and its inherent output uncertainty increases the probability of system power outages, Therefore, researching new methods for power system restoration is highly significant. The system’s ability to withstand wind power disturbances based on the short-circuit ratio of wind power access points is characterized in this paper, then a new restoration strategy was proposed, which uses multiple pumped storage power stations as the black start power source and wind power cooperatively participates. The system restoration strategy is comprehensively considered from perspective of coordinating the output of multiple pumped storage hydropower (PSH) stations and wind power, A robust optimization model for power system restoration decision-making considering wind power uncertainty is established. The proposed restoration strategy’s effectiveness was confirmed through numerical experiments on the New England 10-unit 39-bus system.
