Rapid Calculation Method for Electromagnetic Interference from Transmission Lines to Adjacent Buried Oil and Gas Pipeline

Electromagnetic interference from transmission lines can significantly affect adjacent buried pipelines. Investigations suggest that the deployment of protective barriers in zones severely influenced by electromagnetic disruptions can alleviate their consequences. Against this backdrop, a rapid calculation method for assessing the electromagnetic interference from transmission lines to adjacent pipelines has been proposed. This method calculates the mutual impedance between the transmission lines and the buried pipeline, as well as the per-unit-length series impedance and parallel admittance of the pipeline. By determining the voltage differential along the internal and external surfaces of the pipeline coating, this value serves as a criterion to identify areas severely affected by electromagnetic interference. Comparisons between this calculation method and simulation software indicate that this method offers rapid computation speeds and accurate results. It is suitable for quickly processing batch calculations of voltage differentials across the pipeline coating under various conditions.
