Performance Analysis of Fault Protection Methods for New Energy Photovoltaic Stations

Due to the current operating mode and topology structure of new energy stations being different from traditional methods, the use of traditional protection may result in relay protection tripping, leading to large-scale power outages and affecting the safety and reliability of the power system. For this purpose, this article discusses two methods of current protection and distance protection through simulation calculation, besides, this article also focuses on analyzing and characterizing the differential protection and current protection action characteristics of the collection lines in photovoltaic stations. It also proposes the use of distance protection in areas where current protection is difficult to apply. To provide reference and support for the improvement of relay protection schemes and methods in new energy stations.
