An Innovative Boundary Control Strategy for Enhancing the Dynamic Performance of Triple Active Bridge Converters Under Constant Power Load

This study presents an innovative boundary control strategy for Triple Active Bridge (TAB) converters. The strategy utilizes the Natural Switching Surface (NSS) to improve the converter’s dynamic performance under constant power load conditions. The paper outlines the dynamic properties of the TAB converter and illustrates the phase plane trajectories in various modes, providing a reference for boundary selection. The study examines the natural trajectories of the TAB converters and constructs a framework in the normalized geometric domain, thereby simplifying the design and execution of the boundary control. The study shows that the proposed boundary control strategy allows the TAB converter to achieve operational stability and a rapid start-up phase concurrently. The efficacy of the proposed approach is confirmed through closed-loop simulation.
