Two-stage Coordination of Distribution Network Reconfiguration and Partition Considering Switch Lifespan Limitation

With the integration of numerous distributed energy resources (DERs) into the distribution network (DN), DER control and DN operation become more complex, facing an issue of “the disaster of dimensionality”. To solve this problem, regional autonomy based on DN partition is an effective means. Thus, this paper proposes a two-stage coordination method of DN reconfiguration and partition considering switch lifespan limitation. Firstly, to facilitate the network partition, a day-ahead DN reconfiguration model is proposed, aiming to minimize the network power loss. To avoid frequent switching, the number of switching action is constrained. The stochastic optimization method is applied to handle the uncertainties of renewable energy output and loads. Then, indexes of regional modularization and the source-load matching are introduced for intraday DN partition. Due to the nonlinear partition indexes, a genetic algorithm is utilized to solve the proposed intraday DN partition model. Finally, the proposed two-stage coordination method of DN reconfiguration and partition is tested on a 33-bus network, and its effectiveness and feasibility are verified.
