A Graphene Field Effect Transistor (GFET) Based Integrated Biosensor System for Point-of-Care Application

An electronic Point-Of-Care (POC) system for early-stage disease detection with wide detection range, ultralow detection limit and high detection speed is strongly desired. The novel POC system satisfying the aforementioned criterial requires both innovative detection device as well as a sensitive readout system. Here we designed and fabricated an ASIC system including graphene field effect transistor (GFET) bio-electronic sensor chip as well as corresponding sensitive readout system. The GFET is ultra-sensitive due to monolayer nature of its 2D channel, and the readout system is able to collect> 100 data points per second with 0.5
$\mu \mathrm{A}$
current resolution and 1 m V voltage resolution. The entire POC system enable ultralow limit detection of hsa-miR-125b within minutes, a major breakthrough for Alzheimer's disease detection.
