Optimizing EV Battery Swapping Stations with On-Grid B2G Systems Integration via Artificial Bee Colony

The proliferation of electric vehicles (EVs) has posed significant strain on conventional power grids. To mitigate this challenge, the integration of Battery Swapping Stations (BSS) with distributed energy resources emerges as a promising solution. Conventional grid-powered BSS encounters issues of high electricity costs, grid instability, and carbon emissions, prompting exploration into microgrid-integrated BSS technology. This integration enables BSS to recharge utilizing Distributed Energy Resources (DER), reducing EV charging duration and serving as a microgrid power source during emergencies. This study evaluates the impact of integrating BSS with microgrid-based Vehicle-to-Grid (B2G) systems, aiming to assess advantages, disadvantages, and implications on grid stability and performance, while optimizing power flow analysis using Artificial Bee Colony (ABC) optimization technique. Results indicate that integrating BSS with microgrids offers substantial benefits to both EVs and grid networks, showcasing potential for pivotal roles in the future of transportation and energy.
