AI Driven Quick delivery services in India and Employee wellbeing challenges

AI driven quick delivery services have gained a lot of momentum in the post-Covid scenario in the Indian market. Many players have thronged the market in this space, Zepto being one of them. This research paper was set forth to understand the quick delivery service model and to list employee well-being challenges in quick delivery service-space in India. Twenty-two delivery-boys were asked open-ended questions, in a semi-structured interview format. Inductive content analysis was used to analyze responses. Major challenges were found related to (i) Intrinsic job-characteristics, (ii) missing support system and supportive relationships, (iii) ineffective supervision, (iv) negative thinking and pessimism, (v) mindfulness gap, and (vi) the missing leadership perspective.
