Advanced Energy Billing System

India, as a developing country, is heavily reliant on conventional energy sources and faces challenges of overuse and wastage in its energy distribution. Lack of awareness about domestic power consumption and billing further complicates the issue. This paper proposes an energy measuring and billing device that utilizes an ESP8266 Wi-Fi module, Arduino UNO, and cloud computing for real-time and long-term energy tracking. Smart meters installed at consumer premises precisely measure energy consumption, and the collected data is securely transmitted to the cloud platform for analysis. Users gain access to a user-friendly dashboard through a mobile app or web interface, providing insights into energy consumption patterns and associated costs. Long-term data storage and trend analysis allow users to identify consumption trends and assess energy-saving initiatives’ effectiveness. The proposed device empowers consumers with comprehensive knowledge of their energy usage, promoting energy efficiency and sustainability while bridging the gap between consumers and the energy billing system. By fostering a conscientious energy-consuming culture, this system contributes to India’s efforts to achieve a greener and more sustainable future.
