Nonlinear Sliding-Mode Controller for a DC-DC Boost-buck Converter Feeding a Generalized Load

This paper presents the model and design of a sliding mode controller for a boost buck DC-DC converter operating in continuous conduction mode (CCM). The converter supplies a generalized power load consisting of a resistive component, a current source, and a constant power load. The control strategy is designed based on a nonlinear energy-based system output. It also includes a linear disturbance observer for load current estimation. Simulation results with reference and load variations are provided for design validation.
