Web Application for Reading Water Meters

Taking into consideration that consumers are required and expected to pay their water bills every month. There is a need for a sense of fairness and reasonable billing. Current water billing systems in Zimbabwe overbill users who would not have had their meter readings captured by the meter reader. Also, the idea of having a single meter reader take readings for about two hundred households in a single day raises a cause for concern about the accuracy of the readings due to fatigue. The study designed an application that will enable consumers to upload their meter readings in order to be billed fairly without the use of estimations. This is ethically legal, as the history of the readings will only be visible to the owner of the account and the municipality officials. There is a sense of security guaranteed to the consumer as the users have log in credentials for access to the system. Only one account per meter can be created, so this prevents multiple entries of the same meter in within a household
