Compact Polarization-Insensitive FSS with Angularly Stability in Dual Stop-Band Range

In this work, a compact, recurrence-specific frequency selective surface (FSS) with a super wide obstructing range is proposed which has relatively lower sensitivity to the incident polarization and proper angular stability. It comprises a perturbed square ring unit cell to obtain signal cancellation across a wide frequency range. The FSS of the recurrent type is composed of FR4 material that possesses a thickness measuring 1.6 mm. The proposed FSS shows the double band at 7.04 GHz and 16.05 GHz. The manipulation of the dimensions of the resonator allows for the adjustment of the desired total resonance and operational frequency range. This FSS design can be further extended to integrate with a reflector-type antenna for multi-band communication.
