High Speed Target Motion Compensation Algorithm for Terminal Guidance Radar Based on Frequency Stepping

To address the problem of range-Doppler coupling caused by frequency stepping terminal guidance radar, which leads to the shift and broadening of the range correlation peak of high-speed relative motion targets, a motion parameter estimation algorithm based on fractional Fourier transform (FrFT) was designed. According to the characteristics of the target echo beat frequency signal being a linear frequency modulation signal and the relationship between signal parameters and target motion parameters, the FrFT was used to estimate the parameters of the target echo beat frequency signal to obtain the target speed and range estimation results, and the accuracy of motion parameter estimation was quantitatively derived. For the optimization problem of the order of FrFT, a fast search algorithm for frequency modulation based on golden section search method was designed, and the algorithm was extended to multi-target detection scenarios. The effectiveness of the algorithm was verified through matlab simulation, and the results showed that the algorithm proposed in this paper can obtain the minimum unbiased estimation of the radial distance and speed of high-speed moving targets, and effectively cope with multi-target detection scenarios.
