Integrated Flexible Job Shop Scheduling and Machine Layout Problem Considering Mixed Transportation Ways

Despite of the close relationship between machine layout and job scheduling, the existing researches usually treat them separately. Hence, this paper proposes an integrated flexible job shop scheduling and machine layout problem considering mixed transportation ways (ISLPMT). Then, a novel multiobjective mixed-integer nonlinear programming model is presented to minimize makespan and total material flow cost simultaneously. And a hybrid genetic algorithm based on critical neighborhood search (HGACNS) is designed to solve it. In the HGACNS, two different critical neighborhood searches, i.e., critical machine neighborhood search and critical path neighborhood search, are developed to improve the algorithm performance. Experiments are carried out to verify the feasibility and performance of the proposed model and algorithm. The results indicate that the HGACNS is superior to other comparison algorithms.
