Direction Finding by Time Modulated Linear Antenna Arrays Using Root-MUSIC Algorithm

This paper presents a study on direction finding using Time Modulated Antenna array with Root-MUSIC algorithm for multiple non-coherent sources in the presence of white gaussian noise. Root-MUSIC algorithm is found to reduce the computational complexity and increase the speed with good accuracy. The performance of the proposed algorithm for parameters such as the number of elements, inter element spacing, incident angle and SNR is studied. The proposed algorithm shows better performance compared to MUSIC and power spectrum estimation method except at low SNR. The numerical simulations are carried out in MATLAB.
