Rectangle Patch Antenna with Slots and Defective Ground Structure for C-band Applications

This paper presents a rectangle patch antenna with slots and defective ground structure. The proposed antenna has overall dimensions of 36×39×1.6 mm

. The rectangle patch antenna with pentagonal and hexagonal slots was designed. Further to improve the bandwidth and gain defective ground structure is incorporated. The operating frequency range from 5.47-6.11GHz with a bandwidth of 640MHz. Applications in the C-band are appropriate for the antenna. Ansys HFSS was used to conduct the simulations.
