Design and Analysis of a Slotted Microstrip Patch Antenna for Wide-Band Applications with Controlled Resonance

This research paper presents a comprehensive study of the design, simulation, and analysis of a slotted microstrip patch antenna intended for wide-band applications. The design achieved a wide band from 10.5GHz to 14GHz. Primarily the antenna is designed for 7.5GHz where the antenna shows 600 MHz bandwidth. The antenna shows excellent return loss of -22.5dB at 7.5GHz and wideband too. The proposed slotted microstrip patch antenna emerges as a promising candidate for wide-band applications, demonstrating controlled resonance within the designated frequency band while supporting diverse communication needs. The radiation patterns of the antenna show uniform radiation in both the upper and lower hemispheres. The antenna shows a gain of 4.7dBi and the antenna is used for various medical applications.
