Carrier Frequency Offset Estimation Using Godard Timing Recovery in Coherent Optical Systems

Based on conventional timing recovery (TR) algorithm, we propose a novel method for carrier frequency offset (CFO) estimation by exploiting the available spectrum information from TR. We experimentally validate our proposal in 4-subcarrier 100-GBaud coherent systems.
