Process for Control Cost Overrun using Artificial Intelligence (AI), Earned Value Management (EVM) Analysis and Logistic Sustainability

This study was carried out to investigate the major factors that influence cost overruns in road and real estate construction projects in Egypt by studying previous research articles as the first stage in investigating various reasons for generating cost overruns for various real estate and road projects, as well as studying real projects that suffered from cost overruns and expert brainstorming. 67 previous projects were collected from contracting companies in Egypt and each project was evaluated based on 50 factors. Using the CatBoost and XGBoost algorithms from Artificial Intelligence, a model was created that includes the 49 factors and the real projects data and can predict the percentage overrun for real estate and road projects.
