Computer DFT-Experiment to Study the Possibility of the Existence of Anionic “Superatoms” MeSnn– (Me=Sc, Y, La; n=12, 16,20)

The paper analyzes the possibility of the existence of stable MeSn
n
^-
(n=12, 16, 20) “superatoms” stabilized by scandium, yttrium or lanthanum atoms. Optimized structures of several stable isomers of clusters are presented. The influence of the type of encapsulated metal atom on the stability of a closed structure of tin atoms is considered. Computer modeling in the terms of density functional theory is used for research.
