Human Age Estimation using Face Features

In current era, deep neural network based age classification is dominating over the traditional classification methods using face images. The amount of facial photographs available in the world has soared due to the rising ubiquity of cameras and the rise of selfies. As a result, there is a growing interest in predicting a person’s age from facial images. This study focuses on age estimation using an individual’s still facial photos. The authors have built Custom CNN model and trained the model using UTKFace dataset, the performance is compared with pre-trained VGG16 and ResNet50 models for the same dataset. It has been shown that the effectiveness of the custom neural networks is better than the pretrained models for UTKFace dataset.
