Computer-Assisted Laser Treatment of Anorectal Pathology

Computer technologies will soon completely change the field of medicine. Doctors can use computer-processed information to make the best diagnosis and to recommend the most effective treatment. In the paper, the computer program “LaserCutter” on C# for optimizing the regimes of laser radiation in the treatment of anorectal diseases is presented. Mini-invasive laser hemorrhoidoplasty using the increasingly popular diode laser at 1470 nm was supplemented by “LaserCutter” with the ability for the doctor to make personalized choice of the power and time of exposure, thus eliminating both excessive tissue damage and the need for repeated laser treatment. The results of development and application of the computer program “LaserCutter” are discussed.
