An open-end winding three-phase induction machine fed by a voltage source inverter

The advantages offered by three-phase open-end winding induction machine (OEWIM ) such as fault tolerance in the event of failure, low ripple torque, improved power factor, and increased efficiency make it a preferred choice in feeding induction machines, Unlike conventional induction machines. OEWIM’s double inverter is controlled by several strategies, including Hysteretic Pulse width modulation (HPWM) which provides good dynamic response and low electromagnetic interference, System simulation were implemented in MATLAB / Simulink environment. The study showed good results for speed and electromagnetic torque compared to conventional induction machines.
