High-Precision Machining Technology and Precision Inspection of Variable Tooth Thickness Involute Gear

The high-precision machining process of the singleside tooth surface forming and grinding for the variable tooth thickness involute gear's nominal helix angle after gear hobbing is explored; the tooth profile and tooth direction errors of the sample are detected, and the accuracy grade of the sample with the processing technology is investigated. The results show that: the tooth profile error of the left tooth surface of the variable tooth thickness involute gear sample is between 5.2 μm and 6.36 μm, and the right tooth surface's profile error is between 10.67 μm and 12.18 μm; the tooth profile error of the left tooth surface is smaller than that of the right tooth surface; the left tooth surface has a tooth direction error between 4.3μm and 5.5μm, while the right tooth surface's tooth direction error is between 0.4μm and 4μm. The left tooth surface has a larger tooth direction error than the right tooth surface; refer to the involute Gear accuracy standard GB10095-88, the accuracy grade of sample's the left and right side tooth surfaces of the sample are both 5. The accuracy test results verify the rationality of the processing technology, which have reference significance for the processing and testing of variable tooth thickness involute gears, and provide experimental support for industrial application.
