Power quality improvement by using photovoltaic based PSO as MPPT with Space vector modulation (SVM) control strategy of Quasi Z-Source inverter

The Z-Source Inverter (ZSI) is a widely known power converter that can handle voltage sags, enhance power factor, and cover a broad output voltage range. Quasi-Z-source inverters (QZSI) are modern versions of ZSI with continuous input current to reduce passive component loads, playing a crucial role in photovoltaic systems. Various international publications discuss the advantages of QZSI over traditional inverters and emphasize the importance of high efficiency, low cost, and maintaining high quality output voltage. This paper proposes, to get the maximum energy of a PV system two methods P&O and PSO. After that, it controlled QZSI by two approaches. The sinusoidal pulse width modulation (PWM) control method described in the current literature is a simple boost control and space vector modulation control (SVM) method that has been used recently with different switching schemes are analyzed in this study, and both these methods are simulated via Matlab /Simulink. The results are compared, and it has been seen that space vector PWM can be applied to QZSI without any problem. It has superior performance than the SBC method and the PSO method performs much better than the P&O method in obtaining the maximum power point of a PV array.
