Design of Automatic Climbing Wheelchair for the Elderly based on TRIZ Theory

Objective: In order to solve the problem that the elderly, patients and disabled people encounter obstacles (such as stairs) that ordinary wheelchairs cannot adapt to during travel. Methods: Firstly, the existing stair-climbing wheelchairs in the market were investigated, and the shortcomings were obtained. The key problems were summarized by using the causal analysis and functional analysis in TRIZ theory. The solution is obtained by using technical contradiction, physical contradiction and physical field model. Results: Using TRIZ tools, finally get a can realize automatic high comfort automatic help old climbing wheelchair, solve the perennial rely on wheelchair travel crowd encountered stairs and other not adapt to obstacles can't independently across the problem, has great social significance. Conclusion: The fully automatic stair-climbing wheelchair for the elderly solves the problem that the wheelchair on the market cannot be fully automatic and the comfort is poor in the process of crossing obstacles
