Attitude Towards eHealth Services:Govemment Initiatives in India

Several Indian government initiatives have been started to create awareness and bring health consciousness among its citizens. Over the years traditional models of business have been replaced by adoption of digital technologies and platforms such as mobile applications across many organisations due to technological advancements [1]. Different Missions and various apps are included in such government initiatives. The current study aims to determine the characteristics of government eHealth service users and nonusers and examine the distinctions between the two. The present research presents a typology of Urban Indian citizens. Perception and attitude toward the usefulness of such government eHealth missions and services are studied through structured questionnaires. The researchers found seven distinct groups after a cluster analysis of 187 responses. Dimensionality reduction techniques preceded cluster analysis. The compilation of results suggests no consistent pattern, as a limited number of people have adopted such initiatives. Reluctance and lack of trust in these platforms and apps are significant hindrances limiting their utilization and adoption by Indian citizens.
