A Double Square Monopole Antenna With Dual Band (S band/X band) For Radar And Satellite Communication

This paper presents a new monopole antenna for dual band applications (S band/X band). The proposed antenna is characterized by a double square radiant element, printed on a dielectric substrate FR4 and fed by a microstrip line (50 Ω) and a partial ground plane. The antenna presented has a size of 27 mm × 20 mm × 1.6 mm To improve the performance of our antenna we inserted two symmetrical rectangular slots in the partial ground plane. The configuration and the results of our antenna are represented and simulated by HFSS software. The results obtained indicate that the proposed antenna is well used for two bands, S band (2.8 GHz to 3.6 GHz) and X band (8.1 GHz to 9.6 GHz) for radar and Satellite communication.
