6G Local Spectrum Management for Remote Sites

Future connectivity systems should be simple to assemble, maintain and manage; especially this is true in remote and rural areas. Automated local frequency management is a part of this problem field. The proposed system consists of the high level policy and agreement centers that are used today and provide high level information for the local level. The local dynamic spectrum management (DSM) element is corresponding local optimization of frequency and other signal parameters. If the area included several communication systems, their interop-erability is handled through an inter-system DSM element. In addition to explain the concept and main functionalities, the required enablers are discussed. These include the enhanced possibilities to use unused and underused frequencies, common in rural and remote areas.
