Design and Development of Solar Panel Along with Comparative Analysis of MPPT Algorithms

The renewable energy sector in India is growing very fast and the dependence on electricity generation has increased a lot compared to the last decade. As India is growing in the renewable energy sector, it is very important to understand the external variations in PV systems due to some atmospheric parameters. Much work has been done in this area, but there is still a need for research on temperature changes, the effect of shade and the effect of wind on power generation in photovoltaic systems. In the proposed method, a comparative analysis of two different maximum power point tracking (MPPT) algorithms is performed, and the best method is determined based on the experimental results. This article also aims to review the different literature provided in the same field in different fields of work. Several international works have been evaluated and compared with the proposed methods to get a clear idea of the shading effect on solar panels with both algorithms. The work was carried out with the aim of designing a model of a solar cell in MATLAB and therefore a PV array, which is a series combination of several solar cells. The output of the solar cell is fed to a boost converter that uses two different MPPT algorithms. The perturb-and-observe algorithm and incremental conductivity are used in this Simulink model. This model has been tested for various conditions such as light intensity change, temperature change and load resistance change. A comparative analysis is done for these changes and different courses are recorded to understand the effects.
