Insight into the Future Navigation with a Focus on Small Airports

The need for financial efficiency and capital return linked to the highly demanding technological equipment of the airports providing the highest safety standards has led to the stagnation of small airports. Lightning systems, demanding air navigation infrastructure, and infrastructure of air traffic management with minimal state support have determined the small airports to the role of air club basics and leisure flying usage. However, with the arrival of future navigation systems, the possibilities of less financially demanding development of small airports are opening. This article aims to present the possibilities for the development of small airports using new progressive systems. Small airports can thus become a key element of logistics chains, an entry point for reaching passengers' destinations, or to become a carrier for regional development.
