Multifunctional Stretchable Sensor for Monitoring Human Motion

Human motion monitoring plays an important role in daily exercise management, motor rehabilitation training and human-robot interaction. In this paper, a novel stretchable epidermal sensor for monitoring human motion is proposed and developed. The sensor has multifunction of perceiving three-dimensional body/limb motion velocity, sensing temperature, recognizing human exercise states, and estimating motion energy expenditure. The proposed sensor can be applied to human motor function assessment, human-robot interaction control, and etc.
