Microfluidic Thormbus Analysis System

The aim of this study is to investigate thrombus formation under varying wall shear rates (WSR), using a microfluidic chip-based system. We utilized a microfluidic chip with a circular cross-section that replicates the WSR distribution found in human vessels as our thrombus model. Real-time monitoring of the thrombus development process, including accumulation and lysis, was conducted, and quantitative analysis was performed through image processing to confirm the results. Additionally, activated platelets under high shear rates were further observed through post-morphology analysis using Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM).
