Fabrication and Demonstration of Filter-Free Wavelength Image Sensor for Visualization of Wavelength Information

In this study, we realized a filter-free wavelength image sensor and imaging system to visualize wavelength information. This sensor identifies the wavelength based on the current ratio of the surface and the back. The image sensor comprises a pixel array and row- and column-controlled scanners. The image sensor was fabricated at the university's LSI factory and constructed an imaging system to obtain signals from the fabricated chip. The sensors were irradiated with three LEDs to evaluate the light intensity and wavelength characteristics. Both responded linearly and had a wavelength resolution of 13 nm. Thus, simultaneous imaging of multiple light intensities and wavelengths was successfully demonstrated.
