High-Throughput Sperm Sorting Microfluidic Device for Livestock’s Sperm Motility Enhancement

Sperm sorting by microfluidic chips has flourished lately. Most traditional chips are used to collect upstream-swimming top-tier sperms, which numbers are 10

sperm cells and 1~10 μL. However, the spec of traditional chips could only reach mankind in-vitro fertilization (IVF). As a result, a device is proposed that conducts a milliliter-level high-throughput sorting process and has a passive sorting property with a stable flow field. Furthermore, the chip is manufactured using a low-cost technique. The results demonstrate that sperm motility and progressive motility (PR) have increased by more than 20% and 15%, respectively, and that the number of sperms is 5*10

cells. Additionally, the chip is discussed in several experimental environments. We believe that the motility sorting device is applicable for livestock.
